Skincare post 101 : Sensitive Skin Issue

So, i decided besides blogging about product review, i will tell you some useful tips about skincare and makeup that i knew. The first of all i'm going to tell you about sensitive skin because i happened to have it last year.

So what is sensitive skin? How can we determine we have sensitive skin or not? Let's check this questionary first :
1. Your skin feels dry everytime without moisturizer
2. Even after washing your face, your skin feels like being stretch
3. You skin is likely to develop bumps and can turn into cystic acne
4. During cold days (it can be rainy season or winter) your skin feels itchy
5. During cold days your skin can develop dry flakes
6. You experience a burning sensation sometimes (without being expose to the sun)

If you answer 4 out of 6 questions, you may have a sensitive skin. But to be sure, you can contact your nearest skin doctor to make sure the type of the skin you have.

I have a very very dry skin and because i like to change skincare routine, i develop sensitive skin as well.

My skin is super dry! So let me tell you my experience, when i was a kid during the puberty age, i had so many acnes and oily skin (i was lazy to wash my face). My mother bought for me a cleansing foam and a toner from indonesian brand (S..iayu lime cleansing foam and toner) i used it for few good months.

My pimples were clear i did not develop any acne anymore and i kept using it until one day, when i had washed my face and were about to go to bed, i felt my forehead skin moved it self and formed a touchable wrinkles! Yes! I felt wrinkles all over my forehead! I was only 11 years old and naturally i can not develop wrinkles yet! I quickly washed my face with water and another face wash but i forgot the name and thank God the wrinkles dissapeared. (I guess it is kind of a temporary reaction of my skin)

But since that time, i can't develop oil. Seriously, if you pat my skin with oil paper, you can see no oil and my face feels so dry all the time. The good side is i rarely develop acne and my pores are not that big. I only experience acne if i encountered some products that do not suit my face or when i was in stress, the total acne i got during a year can't be more than 10 pimples.

So last year, i got sensitive skin because i change products everyday. I got a tons of skincare samples and i want to try them all! Haha. I layer 7 to 8 products at once and actually layering methods is not just that simple, but i will discuss it in the next post.

There are few things that sensitive skin should stay away from such as ;
1. Harsh exfoliator and too frequent of doing it
It can damage your skin and makes your skin develops much and much bumps and irritation. The ideal frequency for exfoliate your skin is once in a week

2. Do not use whitening product for a while
Whitening products tend to exfoliate in a chemical way no matter how mild it is, if you keep using whitening product, the irritation will not stop

3. Use your skincare in patting motion
When you apply your skincare, make sure you pat it on your skin not rub it in circle motion since it can trigger your sensitive skin.

4. Use products develop specifically for sensitive skin
For this time, just focus on healing your sensitive skin and those pimples or cystic acne. I used the face shop calming seed series last year and it has done a great job!

5. Use aloe vera extract to soothe sensitive skin
I owned a tube of nature republic aloe vera soothing gel but it has no match for the real aloe vera. Since i live in tropical area it is very easy for me to find aloe vera. You just need to cut the aloe vera and let the juices come out, then spread it on affected area, you will feel a burning and stinging sensation but after you waited it for few hours and washed it, your red and irritated skin will be gone.

I proud to say in this 2 months, my face is not sensitive anymore but just dry (LOL) but i'm happy since no bumps appear and i do not feel itchy on my skin anymore.

Hope this post will help you! Thanks

Review : etude house big cover concealer kit

Last month, etude came with the new face makeup line. Etude House Big Cover series. It includes 1 bb cream, 6 type of cushion concealer, a concealer stick, a liquid essence concealer and a concealer kit. I happened to run out of concealer so i need to buy one hehe.

The price for those concealers and bb cream is quite expensive. For example the cushion concealer cost Rp 140.000 or $13 while normally a roadshop concealer will cost only Rp70.000 or $5. I was interested in the concealer kit since it contains 3 pans, and can works on both eyebag and blemishes.

It came with no box. Just a seal to ensure it has never been opened before. It is smaller than i thought so i was tather disappointed since it is quiet pricey but contains just a little bit product. The pans are sturdy, it came with built in mirror and a brush.

The brush is high quality but it is too small so not very convenient to use, but since  i have no concealer brush, i will just use it.

The three pans consist of pink tone (pink bisque)  which supposed to be used on dark circle area,  light beige (vanilla) and dark beige (sand) concealer which supposed to be used on blemish area.

At the firsttime, i only picked a very little product of sand to cover my blemishes but the cover is really great seriously! I just pick a very very tiny amount and it can cover 2-3 spots totally!

Wow! I don't even need to complain about the small size. It really has a big coverage! For the pink tone, it covers my eye bag perfectly and the colors is not really strange either.

It has a baby powder scent. The texture is very creamy and suprisingly moisturizing enough. It has a semi matte finish but if you use dewy foundation it can match as well.

Wow, etude house really makes me happy this time. Big love for the big cover concealer kit!

Review : Etude house color in liquid berry delicious #rd305

Another new hit yes! I've searched on internet and no one has post anything neither about the delicious berry collection nor the new lip tint balm. A few weeks ago, etude house came with the new spring line. Berry delicious limited edition.

It came with 10 new color in liquid lips, 2 berry shade eyeshadow palletes, some nail polishes, 3 lip care products (jam, scrub, and balm), berry mascaras, cream blushers and nail decals. I chose the color in liquid since i do not find the rest collection interesting enough.

I almost canceled my ordered but the seller said she already placed the order so i have to take it anyway. I already dislike it even before i received the package but....

It turns out to be superb! Let me tell you about the packaging first. It came with a red box with a simple berry decoration unlike the previous color in liquid lips that looks so eyecatchy.

The tube has the same size as the original but it is all red with strawberry seeds decorations. One thing that i don't like is, it has no etude logo or any writting on the tube. Because seriously people won't know it's etude house nor the berry collection.

On the box it is written color in liquid lips juicy. It is also written on the right side of the carton "the moisturizing strawberry moisture softly melts on the lips, with the sweet sour color, expressing juicy, wet lips"  I don't know what that means but when i try on hand swatches, i understand what the juicy means!

Etude house also kindly include the way to use the product : gently apply the juicy content full of strawberry fruit juice (hmm sounds delicious!) on the lips, apply on the centre of the lower lip in dots to create more beautiful gradation on the lips.

When i looked onto the ingredient list, it has so many fruit juice extract such as cranberry, strawberry, raspberry, blueberry and coffee!

The texture is like a hybrid combination between jelly type tint and water tint. The consistency is almost like jelly tint but it glides on like water tint. It is not stick yet not too runny. The color is sheer but it can be builded up into highly pigmented color.

The color that i chose RD305 is the main color in this range. The one that Krystal used on the advertisement. It is a very berry red. Not oriental red but berry red (pink

pink mixed red and purple). It brightens my complexion.

I hate the original color in liquid series since the color looks neon and will not match with certain skin tone (like mine) and the finish was semi matte.

But the new juicy collection has gloss finish but not sticky! It not neon either, perfect!

It smells like strawberry syrup. The applicator is just the same as the old one. And one thing that is really remarkable, the lasting effect is superb! I can't get the tint off from my lips even using a tint remover from apieu! It still leaves pink mark. I used it at night before i slept and in the next morning, the color is still vivid.

Overall, ten thumbs again for the new color in liquid juicy for all the outstanding performance. Thank you etude for bringing such a wonderful product.

Review : Etude house balm + color tint

Yes! It's new hit review time! Not long ago etude house released the balm + color tint series. And i got a chance to try 3 out of the five shades!

The new color tint balm adapts the same concept as the laneige duo tint bar. A single Liptick with 2 colors, but unlike laneige lipstick, etude house comes with a tint concept.

They have 5 shades which are beige, orange, coral, pink and red. I wanted to get out from my comfort zone so i chose shade 1,2, and 3.

It came with a box. No princessy theme but it still looks cool enough. On the box it is stated :
1. Hydrating lip balm meets vibid color making gradation tint stick easier and faster to apply
2. (Get lips ready) the tinted lip balm hydrates and colors your lips, getting them perfectly ready for the gradation look
3. (Get the golden ratio 7:3) the tinted lip balm for the lips is enough for generous use with color atick in reasonable amount only for the inner area at ratio of 7:3.

The lip tint is housed in a crayon tube just like mamonde. It is a screw type like usual. Each tube has a different color depends on its shade so you won't be confused which shade to pick among piles of lippies in your cosmetic case. It has circle decorations, i don't know what the circle means because it doesn't match with the whole concept hehe but it still looks great.

It has a faint lychee smell, but disappear once you apply it on lips. Each balm has 2 colors. The light and the pigmented one. The light shade area is bigger than the pigmented one and the lines are clear so it won't mix up when you swipe on lips.

Okay let's jump into the colors!

The first shade i'm hoing to review is the beige color number 1. As you can see on the picture, the light shade is transparent cream color, while the darker shade is beige. apply on lips, the lighter shade provides a sheer glossy beige color. The darker color is very beautiful. It has MLBB color which is a trend for 2016. Combine together it creates the most beautiful MLBB color. It is not neon nor too pale. It is a perfect shade that makes your face even prettier. If you want a natural looking makeup it is a perfect shade.

The second color is orange. The lighter shade is yellow, and the darker side is deep orange. It has been a long time i've never bought an orange shade lipstick. The last color lips fit from etude house turned into a disaster which i hate very much. But today i braved myself to try orange lipstick again. Apparently it is super gorgeous. It is not neon and looks very beautiful. you can see on the lips swatches how beautiful is that. It makes your face brighter and it could be an alternative choice for everyday lips.

The third color is coral. But i don't think the color looks coral. It kinda mixed between red, pink and coral. If you look on the hand swatches,  the color looks  like almost red. The color makes your face looks Brighter and more bold. It's an everyday coral red shade and it is very pretty as well. The lighter shade turns out to be sheer pink.

Overall, i think it suits the name balm + color tint. It feels very moisturizing like a balm (the lighter shade) and the color is very vivid like color tint. It is very pigmented and long lasting. You can see even after rubbing the tint color and the balm color is still there. It may not be as pigmented as before but it still looks great. 10 thumbs up for etude house balm + tint color.

Review : etude house proof ten eye primer stick

Hi all, do you know? I've been thinking about what should i post today when i scrolled down my gallery and saw the picture of etude house eye primer. Yup! It is the proof 10 stick primer.

I was sad to see some of my eyeshadow do not show well on my eye lid and i remembered, i need to use primer. Some people say etude house eye primer (the cream one) is a dupe for urban decay eye potion primer. But now they have released the stick version, and i think i'm gonna try the new one.

So it has almost the same size as the bling bling eye stick but a little taller. It came in a box, nothing special about the box and no princessy theme. The tube is like a metal, with metallic blue color. It is the twist and turn type and it contains enough product for approximately 6 months of continuous usage.

The color of the primer is white. When i touched it, the texture resembled wax. And i've ever read it somewhere that it contains beeswax. Swatches on hand, you can't barely see it's there. Swatches on eyelid, it is a little bit white but once you rub it, the white cast will be gone.

Now, you can see on the picture, i applied one brown eyeshadow which is already pigmented actually. The right side without primer and the left side with primer. The color is definitely more vivid on the left side. So now you don't have to worry about weak colouring eyeshadow since you can easily do magic with this primer.

Apply it on eyebrow before drawing your eyebrow can help the color stay whole day! You can also apply it on the corner of the nose and on dry patches. Truly a multitasker!

It has no smell, and the texture is soft. It doesn't melt like a balm. I really recommend this for everyone seriously!

Well, that's all for today. Thank you very much for reading and see ya!

2nd makeup tutorial : IU inspired daily makeup

Today's post will be my second makeup tutorial and i will cover soloist IU daily makeup. When i searched on internet, IU used to be dark skin girl (i mean she looked darker than she is now) and now she transformed herself into a fragile beautiful looking girl with porcelain skin. Most of her makeup are just the same so i prefer to cover her daily makeup not the mv makeup.

So let's get started!

(Noted that this tutorial doesn't aim in a complete identical face since i can't change my face into her haha, but more into an inspired upon IU's makeup)

So that the second tutorial, thank you very much for reading and have a nice day!
