review: nature republic aloe soothing gel

Hello again, today i'm going to review my recent skincare family. The super famous Nature Republic aloe soothing gel. I notice every korean brand will have the same aloe gel product but nature republic is the only one that gets super attention. Perhaps due to its multi function advertising?

i've been running out of my etude collagen cream and i have no intention to repurchase it, meanwhile my skincare product will be coming on next week so i need something to replace it temporary.

I got a rather sensitive skin this lately due to the cheap viva cleansing milk, i somehow borrowed my mom's cleansing milk, it was a local product and super cheap (only Rp 5000) i thought it will do nothing harm on my skin since it was only cleansing milk, but it turned out catastrophe.

I got raging red acnes for a month! Every time one spot has healed the other would appear instantly. It was really ache since the acne is deep within my skin more like swollen parts. I even blame the skinfood product and i swear i will never buy it forever! But i was wrong, it was the damn cleansing milk. Sorry skinfood, i still adore you.

Back to the product, i purchased this gel merely because of the soothing effect. It contains 92% pure aloe vera and the other 8% is chemical things such as alchohol which is quite high and it also contains perfume. Well both of them are well known for drying the skin and none of the alchohol products that i have can satisfy my super dry skin.

This product has a clear transparent gel texture. It cools down my skin upon the first application.

The scent is refreshing, not too strong. You can only smell the scent when you put your nose on it cause once it applied on skin you barely can detect it. The scent is a mixture of faint aloe vera smell and subtle citrus smell.

Now let's test the multi functions claim!
1. Face moisturizer: well it does what it says. It makes my skin moist and soft, but unfortunately the effect doesn't last very long. Only 1-2 hours and it will disappear. So i need to re use it again. Actually this works well for daily moisturizer, when the weather is hot and humid and you need something light on your skin. But my fellow told me that it feels dry on his skin, well because it contains alchohol it dries up so fast and it leaves tightening effect and some people may not like the effect since it can be considered as drying the skin.

2. Body moisturizer: well, i love this function! Since the product came in 300ml jar, it can be used for the whole body. I use this right after the shower and before i apply my face shop body essence. It makes my skin softer and very cool. Haha

3. Face mask: take a huge amount of this product and apply generously all over your face. Wait for 10 minutes then wash off. I found that it is very cooling and soothing for my skin, but actually it leaves no effect other than cooling down my skin.

4. Hair mask: i do not notice any special effect that it has


5. After shave: well i guess this will work for soothing the irritated skin cause by shaving

6. Eyelashes vitamin: this doesn't work


7. Nail and cuticle gel cream: this is a very promising nail and cuticle gel, eventhough the effect will not last long.

8. Swollen eyes: i have no swollen eyes so i don't know how it can soothe swollen eyes. But because of the cooling effect, i guess it will work well

9. Makeup base: i don't know wether this could act as a primer or act as a pore cover since it doesn't do anything as a makeup base. It covers nothing and hide nothing.

Overall, this is a good poduct for soothing the skin but do not really rely on it as your skincare product since it doesn't do much. Will i purchase it again? Maybe since i like the cooling effect during the hot days.

review: holika holika petit bb cream # ouncing

Hey hey hey, do not be fooled by cheap price! I got this bb cream a week ago from one of my student when she went to kuching. Actually i have no intention to purchase it but well my student said it is a good product so let's give it a try..

So this bb cream is called petit bb cream and it comes in 5 variant, bouncy, shimmering , moisture, aqua and clear. At first i have my eye on the shimmering one since i love dewy and shimmering finish, but it was not available.

So the next to nothing is The bouncy type. It contains collagen and caviar extract to maintain skin elasticity and suppleness. It comes in 30ml yellow plastic tube with bouncy writtings all over it. Well actually the price is very cheap it is only 38rm or in indonesia i can found it for Rp75.000 online. Very very cheap for a korean bb cream. The scent smells like artificial flower fruity scent, very strong and i don't like it.

Next, for the performance, it comes in one shade and it has yellow tone. As you know my face tends to have pink tone and i don't fit well with bb cream that has dark shade cream (except brtc).

So when i applied it on my face it turned very white (i have a very light asian skintone and this is 2-3 tone lighter than me almost ghostly) i was very scared it couldn't match my skintone but then it oxidized. Now it is time for concealer, i used etude house surprise essence concealer in no 1, and.. My face is two tone darker than the concealer (i swear it got darken) while actually i had no problem at all with this concealer, usually it always suits my skintone.

Next, the coverage is very terrible! I can still see all my spots and discolorations. It indeed cover some redness but not enough to be called good. And one thing more, it makes my face feel itchy

I've never felt as disappointed as this when it comes to korean cosmetic. Evethough it is cheap, it is still just a waste of money. So i will not recommend it for anyone at all.

Sorry for the rather angry post haha but truly this is such a shame for a holika holika product

review: etude house dust cut mist

HI all it has been a long time i never write anything from etude house. I'VE been trying many other brands and forgot to buy something from etude.

Well, today i would like to share my opinion on etude house dust cut mist. I bought this product last year and it was a hit.

It claims to block dust and dirt from our face. They even have a small test to try it out by blowing small dust on 2 pink balloons. The one that has been coated by dust cut mist has lesser dust.

So if we spray this mist it should act as a shield on our face. I still remember my first impression one year ago when i used this mist while riding motorcycle. Usually my face will feel sticky due to the dust and dirt out there but    when i used this mist all over my face, i could feel my face less sticky and still feel very fresh even after a whole day out there.

It contains 150 ml and the bottle is bulky so definitely not travel friendly. Etude house states that it also contains bamboo water for moisturizing effect but lol i feel none. Haha

The mist is transparent clear with crisp flower scent. The scent is pretty strong but still tolerable and it quickly disappear after the mist has dried.  the consistency is very runny and can completely dry after 15-30 seconds.

Once it has dried i could feel (and see) my face tightened. Etude house says that this means the mist is working. It kinda building transparent layer on my face. Well i could see something like transparent film on my face.

One thing that i notice is once it combines together with makeup it doesn't work quite well. It can't form the layer nicely. Or maybe i can't feel it since my face has been coated by the skincare regime, base makeup and bb cream?

I prefer to use it at night when i put nothing on my face except toner. I could feel the effect and when i wake up in the morning, my face feels less oily and dirty.

So, is it a good product? Well if you want to protect you face from dirt and dust out there you could try this product

but overall i think this product is just a gimmick, sorry etude house, i still love you but this product is just a nope for me.

review: the face shop brightening capsule body wash + body essence

My mom likes to say, hey if you're really into korean products why don't you buy some body wash and lotion too?

Well, i do want but something always blocking my way! (yes, it's you pretty shades of lipstick, don't turn around! I know it's you!) hehe. So i've been eyeing this faceshop brightening capsule body wash and essence for a long time but i can only got it now.

The reason why i choose face shop because it offers whitening effect. Well, actually no whitening lotion applied topically can whitened your skin. You know what i meant, if you're born with darker skin nothing can help you except chemical injection, but hey! We need to embrace ourselves no matter what kind of complexion we are.

But if your originally skin got darkened overtime by sun expose or dirt this could help you pretty good. Remember i like to say it is more to the brightening effect than whitening.

So, back on the review. The bottle is not as big as i expected. I even wondered wether it contains 300ml of product or not at the first time so i checked on the back and it written 300ml. Pheww

Both of the products come in pump dispenser. This is very handy since you just need to pump pump pump. Hehe. The box is almost square and bulky, with the picture of white lily on front.
At back, mostly the explanations are dominated by korean words so it is useless for me to see it. The ingredient is written in english. So when i have spare time when taking a bath (while i wait for my hair mask pack) i compare the ingredient of the body wash with regular lifebuoy liquid soap.

I found the face shop contains such a little ingredients and most of them are plant extract. Well, i guess it's good enough for my sensitive skin. (i ever experienced rashes on my chest and neck from using lux whitening body wash. I was really bad and left such horrible scratch marks because it was so itchy. I cure it using raw aloe vera sap, the one that my mom plant on our backyard).

The product is a transparent liquid and It

produces less bubble foam than other soap. The smell is a very refreshing citrus (again like the innisfree) and disappear once i rinse it.

It leaves no sticky residue like dove soap (if you know what i meant) but it is not squeaky clean either. It's a perfect balance between them. I love it so much.

Now, the essence. The bottle is exactly the same as the body wash. If without the essence writting, i could not differ them. It has the same scents again.

Well, if i hear essence i thought it's gonna be like nivea serum texture. Still lotion but with faster absorbtion. But i was wrong, it is a milky color essence, the texture is similar to our face essence and it absorbs really fast. Just like face essence.

It leaves no greasy residue and one thing that i really appreciate, it doesn't feel greasy even when i splash it with water after that. I don't know maybe it penetrate into my skin 100%?

It makes my skin feels smoother. But it can't quench my skin's thirst yet. My body skin is super dry, but this is good enough, better than nothing.

For the effect, i can see a slightly brightening effect on my skin. So i guess it works but i just need to be patience.

I recommend this product for people who are looking for daily lotion without greasy feelings but for those who need extra moisture, this will not fulfill the hope.

review: tonymoly prestige carat lipstick spf 15 #1

Well today i will be reviewing a lipstick from tonymoly. I got this lipstick as a present and actually it has never cross my mind to buy lip product fro

m tonymoly but everything always has the first time right?

This lipstick is called tonymoly prestige carat lipstick. If i read a word of prestige, snail line will come to my mind (secret key prestige snail line hehe) and carat should be related with diamond? I'm not really sure about the meaning of the name and there are no description in the box that can help.

One thing i do noticed is the ingredient. It has a lot of ingredients just for a simple lipstick (it needs two sides of the carton box to write it down. If i have to judge, it contains too much (?) material for just a lipstick, range from vegetable oils (sunflower and friends) collagen, fish extract (?), and many fruit extracts (strawberry, sweet cherry, kiwi, etc) or maybe this is the meaning of prestige?

For the price, i do not know. And i do not dare to ask my friend hehe. The design is definitely simple, almost look cheap if without the gold circle on top. I couldn't say i like the design since it's all black and there are no writings at all. No one will know i'm wearing tony moly haha.

I got the first shade. It almost has the same shade with my memebox i'm lipstick but this one tends to look a bit more orangey. It lasts longer than my memebox evethough it's a palre shade.

I really like the smell, some what it smells fruity and very fresh.

It is a moist lipstick and i love moist lipstick. I don't need to exfoliate or putting any balm before the lipstick. I think it's emphasizing the lip care side

Overall i like the lipstick quiet much but i don't know, i just don't have any interest in purchasing the same line even though it has such a good quality. I do want to try the hyuna signature lipstick for the next couple of month, do tell me if you have tried it!

review: innisfree jeju volcanic black head out balm (melting)

Hi all, is there anyone who doesn't suffer from blackhead and white head problem? If it's you, then You will be one of the luckiest person on earth. Lol

I may not suffer in such a major case but i do have blackheads on my nose and cheek. Every morning when i check my face on the mirror with direct sunlight, i will see lots of blackhead on my nose and it has been a pain in the ass. (you know what i meant, you are trying to pinch it out with extractor but you know you can't never do that without creating big pores and inflamation)

So when i saw this product, i immediately attracted to it. It claims to melt down the blackheads with the jeju volcanic formula. Melt down? Seriously?

Ok, let's get started. First, as usual innisfree product always comes with recycle paper box and the writings are written using the soy ink. Somehow i really like the paper box. It screams mature and earth lovers.

The container is round and bulky. I didn't expect it could be so big, maybe a little bit bigger than innisfree sebum powder. But for a balm, it's quite big and can last for a very long time considering you can only use a little bit product everytime.

The scent is somewhat similar to my innisfree shampoo. Kinda like citrusy smell but some people describe it as herbal smell. The color is opaque white.

Now, the texture is pretty much like a balm or ointment that you spread on your chest when you have cold. It melts on skin directly when you apply it.

On the box it states that we need to massage it for 3 - 5 minutes and wash it with lukewarm water. But here i say, rub as long as you want and wipe it off with tissue, then you can rinse it with water.

It works like a magic on my skin, once i rub it for 2 minutes more or less, i couls feel tiny little granule coming out from my pores. And it is not from the balm itself since it doesn't contain any granule. When i pick it, the color is white, i guess it's the white head. So this product also works on white head too! (i don't need

to by the etude house zero sebum melting gel haha)

Now, time to wipe it off. I can see little black dots on the tissue but not as much as i want. I rinse it off and my nose area feels so smooth. Really really smooth. There are no visible blackheads anymore. Well, i need to check the morning mirror first.

So, the next morning, i still see some blackheads on my nose even though i cannot touch it. I guess it has sink deep into my pores and also it has hair. You know, blackheads with hair is the most difficult one. I think i should get medical treatment for that one day.

I give this product for my sister and it works amazingly on her face. She has tons of blackhead and whitehead on her nose until you can see the rough pattern with bare eyes. And when she wears makeup, it can't stick to her skin because of the blackhead.

This product removes let say 75 % of her black and white heads so yeah this is a wonderful product with such a cheap price. I bought it for Rp 70.000 but you can find it for rp. 50.000.

review: the skinfood argan oil hair mask pack

Next i will be reviewing the skinfood argan silk hair mask. Actually this is quiet a popular product from skinfood. I ever tried the sample size one and i love it

Hair mask is different from conditioner since you need to let it sits on your head for about 5 minutes and it targets on giving noutishment on hair. You can also put iy on your scalp but you can't put conditioner on your scalp since we can never wash it thoroughly. And hair mask is also different from creambath. While creambath needs to be massage and leaves on for about 1 hour, hair mask only need five minutes to sit on your scalp.

Now about the product, The bottle is bigger than i thought. It contains 200ml of product. For the packaging, it is so skinfood. A little shabby and reminds me of old and dusty potion from a witch house hehe. But on the contrary, i love the packaging so much.

The smell is quiet heavy buttery scent. I don't really love the smell but that is the thing from skinfood, they always fail at product's scent. (they claim it to be natural, have you ever smell the black sesame mask? It was awful) hehehe

The product's consistency is yellow buttery cream and it doesn't leave that greasy conditioner feeling after being wash off.

It leaves my hair as smooth as silk and not weighing down.

It has the same problem as the innisfree, the scent doesn't linger for a long time. But it is such a nice hair product and i really recommend it for those who has rough, dry, and coarse hair (like mine) and cannot comb your hair smoothly until the very end.

I will not stop my hunting on hair product since i really need it and there are tons of product that i need to buy hehehe..
